Shri Shailendra Handa
Shri Shailendra Handa hails from Delhi and has done B.Sc(Hons.)Botany and LLB from University of Delhi.
He joined Indian Revenue Service in 1980 and has worked in the Income Tax Department at various levels in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Baroda,
Allahabad, Nagpur, Pune and Delhi. He has spent substantial time in the Department in the spheres of Assessment, Tax Administration,
Appeals, Investigation Wing and Training. Worked as Chief Commissioner at Pune and Ahmedabad before joining the Income Tax Settlement
Commission in December, 2015. He has been an active sportsman all through his career and in addition to playing a number of outdoor/ indoor
games, he has officiated many times as a first class Cricket Umpire, on the panel of BCCI. He continues to play competitive Bridge upto National Level.
Smt. Simar Singh Negi
Ms. Simar Singh Negi joined the Income Tax Settlement Commission in the Additional Bench - I at New Delhi on 4.12.2015 after her retirement from the Income Tax Department.
An alumni of the Delhi University she completed her Masters Degree in History in 1978. She joined the Indian Revenue Service in 1980 and has held postings in various capacities in the Income Tax Department. She has been posted at different stations in the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Cochin, Panaji and Pune. She was posted as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax at Delhi in 2012 and thereafter promoted as Principal Director General of Income Tax subsequent to which she joined the Income Tax Settlement Commission.
Her other interests include reading, music and travel.
Sh. Ashok Kumar Sinha

Worked at different places like Chennai, Bihar, U.P(Kanpur and Agra) Delhi, Shillong and Guwahati.
On deputation in Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Govt. of India at Delhi.
Represented Country in various bilateral and Multilateral talks in Israel, South Africa, Germany and France etc.
Attended World Bank Conference at St. Petersburg(Russia) and Marseille (France) relating to Tax Policy.
Worked in CBDT for Six and a half years.
Retired as Pr. CCIT Delhi.

Sh. Kulvinder Singh
Shri Kulvinder Singh hails from Chandigarh. He did his post graduation in English Literature, followed by a Diploma in Management. He joined Indian Revenue Service in the year 1979. He worked in various capacities in the Department in Bombay, Ludhiana, New Delhi, Rohtak, Calcutta and Chandigarh, handling different fields of assessment, administration, investigation, audit, appeals, ITAT etc. He has worked on deputation, on three occasions, starting with the CBDT, Department of Revenue, with the CAG of India and Government of Haryana. He was promoted to the post of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in the year 2012 in New Delhi. He also held charge of Principal CCIT (CCA) for U.P. (East). He joined as a Member in the ITSC, Additional Bench – II, New Delhi on 2nd November, 2015, and to date, continues in this position.
Sh. Dinesh Verma
Dinesh Verma joined the Indian Revenue Service in 1980. He completed his masters in English Literature from Delhi University in 1978 and later on pursued courses in International Economic Relations at Institut International d’Administration Publique, Paris; MBA (Finance) at Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees, Paris and LL.B from Meerut University. He also worked for some time as a Research Associate at International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation, Amsterdam. He has worked for over a decade in the C.B.D.T: in Foreign Tax, Investigation and ITA Divisions. He has also worked as Director (International Taxation) at Delhi and CCIT (International Taxation) at Delhi and Bengaluru and CCIT in Central Charges at Mumbai and Delhi. He has also been a Member of the D.R.Ps at Delhi and Kolkota for two cycles. His last posting in the Income tax Department was that of Principal Chief Commissioner, Karnataka and Goa at, Bengaluru, after which he took voluntary retirement in December, 2015 to join as a Member of the Settlement Commission at Delhi.
Shri F.M. Mohanty
Shri F. M. Mohanty hails from Cuttack, Orisa and he has done M.A. (Pol. Seience) from University of Delhi in 1977.
He has joined Indian Revenue Service in 1979.
Worked as ITO /AC / DCIT / Addl. CIT / CIT in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Chennai and Orissa.
Worked under the Vigilance Directorate for number of years.
Contributed substatially in the firlds of Administration and Investigation.
Promoted as Chief Commissioner of Income-tax in August 2012.
Worked as Chief Commissioner of Income-tax – XIII / X / IX / V / IV / II / XII and Chief Commissioner of Income-tax (LTU) at Mumbai upto May, 2015.
Superannuated on 31.05.2015.
Joined as Member, Incoem- tax Settlement Commssion, Additional Bench- I, Mumbai on 29.10.2015 and took over as Vice- Chairman on very same day i.e. 29.10.2015.

Shri Raminder Kaushal

Promoted as Chief Commissioner of Income- tax in the year 2012 and posted to Delhi.
Transferred and posted as Chief Commissioner of Income- tax to Mumbai in 2014, and then promoted as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income- tax, Mumbai in June, 2015. Retired on superannuation from the said post in 2015.

Promoted as Chief Commissioner of Income- tax in the year 2013 and posted to Kolkata as Chief Commissioner of Income- tax- V. Thereafter posted as Chief Commissioner of Income- tax- IV and also held additional charge of Chief Commissioner of Income- tax (TDS).
Transferred and posted as Chief Commissioner of Income- tax , Odisha towards the end of 2014. Resigned from the said post in December, 2015.

Shri Pradeep R. Sethi
Shri Pradeep R.Sethi was born on 22.07.1995 in Ambala Cantt(Haryana).
He passed Indian School Certificate Examination(ICSE) from St.Edwards School, Shimla in !970.He is a B.com from Panjab University,Chandigarh,B.l from Himachal Pradesh University,Shimla and MBA from Delhi University,Delhi.
He joined as Officer in Indian Overseas Bank in 1976. In 1979,he joined the Indian Revenue Service.He Worked at various Stations in diverse posts in the Income Tax Department including Central Board of Direct Taxes.
He attended two training programmes in 2012(IIM,Banglore and University of Maryaland U.S.A). and 2013 (IIM Bangalore and Wharton School of Business U.S.A).
He retired on 31.07.2015 as principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax,North West Region,Chandigarh.
On 30.10.2015,he joined as Member,Income Tax Settlement Commission,Addl. Bench-II, Mumbai.
Since 02.12.2016,he is Working as Vice Chairman, Income Tax Settlement Commission, Addl. Bench-II, Mumbai.
Shri Sudhir Kumar
Shri Sudhir Kumar joined the Indian Revenue Service in the year 1981. He completed his B.Sc (Hons.) in Physics from Patna University. Thereafter, he joined BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre). Before coming to IRS, he was in Indian Forest Service.
He worked in various capacities in Income Tax Department till 16th March, 2016 at places like Asansol, Durgapur, Kolkata, and Mumbai. He has served in Income Tax Settlement Commission, Kolkata Bench earlier during the period 2004-2008 in the capacity of Secretary / DI. He held the post of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Allahabad for more than two years before joining the Income Tax Settlement Commission, Mumbai.
He has attended the Mid Career Training Programme at IIM, Bangalore, IIM, Ahmedabad, Maryland University, and Harvard University during this tenure as Commissioner of Income Tax / Chief Commissioner of Income Tax.
Shri S.M. Ashraf, born in 1957 at Sitapur belongs to Marehra, District Etah (U.P). He did his B.A. (Hons.) and M.A. (Urdu) securing the first position with First Division -both in B.A. and M.A. - from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Shri Ashraf joined the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) in the year 1981. He has worked as Assistant, Joint as well as Additional Commissioner of Income Tax at various places like Agra, Aligarh, Kanpur, Mumbai from 1983 to 2001. He was promoted as Commissioner of Income Tax, Aligarh in 2001, and after a successful tenure of 5 years, he got posted at Delhi and worked as CIT(A), CIT(Salary) and Commissioner of Income Tax, (Central Charge), New Delhi. After promotion to the post of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Higher Administrative Grade), Shri Ashraf held the charges of various corporate and non¬corporate regions of Kolkata including the charges of CCIT (TDS) and CCIT, Shillong. Shri Ashraf has been awarded a Trophy in the presence of the then Chairperson of CBDT for achieving collection target in the whole region in 2005. Importantly, in 1998, he auctioned properties of Dauood Ibraheem, notorious underworld don, at Mumbai. He delivered lecture in Urdu Festival organized by the University of Virginia, U.S.A. in 2008. He has written a number of book(s)/novel(s) in Urdu amongst them is Baad-e-Saba Ka Intizar (Stories), 2000 (a Sahitya Akademi Award Winning Book). Shri Ashraf has achieved various awards and Trophies. The novel "Number daar ka Neela" written by him has been adjudged in 2002 as one of the best Urdu novels of the 20th century. Several scholars have done research work of M. Phil and Ph. D on his short stories and novels at various Central Universities of India and abroad. In February, 2016, he was awarded the Excellence award by Central Revenue Sports Board. After taking voluntary retirement from the post of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Shri Ashraf joined the Income Tax Settlement Commission, Addl. Bench, Kolkata as Member on 11.03.2016.
Shri T. Jayasankar, born in 1955 at Chennai, studied in Kendriya Vidyala, Tirupati and later in Loyola College, Chennai. He completed his LLB in Osmania University in 1986. He joined Group I Services in the State Government of Andhra Pradesh in 1978 and later joined Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) in 1979. He worked in various capacities at Chennai, Hyderabad, Belgaum, Tirupathi, Bangalore, Ujjain, Bombay and Nagpur. For more than a decade he was attached to the Investigation Wing in his service in the Department. He was promoted as Principle Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in June 2015 and held the post of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax and Director General, Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry in the last one year of his tenure. He was deputed to Bath University (1990) for a course in MSc. in Fiscal Studies and to Singapore (1996) on a training programme. He also attended Mid Career Training Programme at Wharton University in Pennsylvania in 2013. Subsequent to his retirement he joined the Income Tax Settlement Commission as Member in October 2015 and presently holds the post of Vice Chairman, ITSC, Additional Bench, Chennai.
